Message There is much tradition behind the Z in general. The thing I liked about the Z is that even though it was a nissan Z it appeared to be its own little company outside of nissan. I never really associated the Z with the nissan line in general. Kind of like the ///M division of bmw. This is due to the fact that in the past I didnt like other nissans, because as a whole I just did'nt think the quality of nissan was where it should be, today they have improved tremendously and I like what nissan is doing with their lineup and cars, I think the altima and g35 are the best of thier classes. The Z stood out because they put so much extra quality and effort in the Z. The Z differentiated itself by often having the Z logo where the nissan logo would be on all the other models. As a matter of fact the steering wheel in the 90 z32's were the same in the 240 sx's around that year with the exception that there was a Z logo in the center versus the nissan. The Z lineup was just so much traditional I guess than before. The Z's came with extra's that the other nissan line didn't come with especially in the early 80's with the 280zx like leather in the early part, digital dash in the Z31, incredible engines for their times where the other nissan models didnt. Like I said as the company The Z's had their signiture floor matts, had anniversary models, specialized keys, even specialized keys upon specialized keys( like the titanium Z key). The key of the new Z looks horrible, its square, plain, reminds me of GM keys and is the same as the other nissan models. Now there is no differentiation. It just seems like they are becoming more of nissan which is not that bad now because nissan has definantly improved but I guess I liked it even more than now because of that fact that the Z appeared as its own company.
